A beautifully mature expression of one of Tuscany’s most iconic Brunello producers, the 2009 Biondi-Santi Brunello di Montalcino DOCG showcases the elegance, freshness and extraordinary longevity that define the historic Tenuta Greppo style.
Produced from Biondi-Santi’s proprietary BBS11 clone of Sangiovese Grosso, selected at Tenuta Greppo in the 1970s, the 2009 vintage draws fruit from vineyards more than 10 years old, including parcels whose oldest vines are typically reserved for Riserva production.
The wine displays a refined bouquet of forest floor and red fruits, layered with warm balsamic nuances and delicate flinty notes. On the palate, its characteristic vertical tannic structure is balanced by vibrant freshness, while a graceful, lingering finish reveals sophisticated hints of tobacco and aged leather.
Aged for three years in traditional Slavonian oak barrels before benefiting from extended bottle refinement, this Museum Release offers a rare opportunity to experience Biondi-Santi Brunello with significant bottle age and developed tertiary character.
