The 2016 Penfolds Bin 95 Grange Shiraz Gift Box is one of the most acclaimed modern releases of Australia’s most iconic wine. Produced by Penfolds, Grange is internationally recognised as a benchmark of fine wine excellence and is officially listed as a Heritage Icon of South Australia. The 2016 vintage has received extraordinary critical acclaim, including multiple 99–100 point reviews, and is widely regarded as one of the greatest Grange releases of the 21st century.

Crafted from 97% Shiraz and 3% Cabernet Sauvignon, the fruit was sourced from premium vineyards across Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale, Clare Valley, and Magill Estate. The wine was matured for 18 months in 100% new American oak hogsheads, continuing the traditional Grange winemaking philosophy established by legendary winemaker Max Schubert.

The bouquet is intensely expressive and unmistakably Grange, revealing aromas of blackberry, blackcurrant, dark plum, liquorice, star anise, dark chocolate, mocha, cedar, vanilla oak, and exotic spices. Additional notes of cigar box, roasted coffee, dried figs, black olive, and savoury complexity emerge with aeration, showcasing the wine’s extraordinary depth and character.

On the palate, the wine is powerful yet impeccably balanced. Concentrated flavours of blackberry compote, black cherry, cassis, dark chocolate, espresso, spice, and ripe dark fruits are supported by ultra-fine tannins and vibrant acidity. Despite its immense concentration and structure, the wine remains remarkably elegant, precise, and seamless. Critics have praised its purity, balance, and extraordinary ageing potential, with drinking windows extending through to 2065 and beyond.

The finish is exceptionally long, layered, and persistent, leaving lingering notes of dark fruits, cocoa, liquorice, cedar, spice, and savoury oak. Presented in its original Penfolds gift box, this release is ideal for collectors, investors, milestone celebrations, and luxury gifting.
