The 2021 Mount Mary Pinot Noir is a refined and highly sought-after cool-climate Pinot Noir from the Yarra Valley, crafted by Mount Mary. Produced in limited quantities, this wine exemplifies Mount Mary’s philosophy of elegance, restraint, and site expression, earning a reputation as one of Australia’s benchmark Pinot Noir producers.

The 2021 vintage was widely regarded as outstanding in the Yarra Valley, with a cool growing season that promoted slow, even ripening and exceptional flavour development. These conditions resulted in a wine of remarkable purity, aromatic complexity, and structural finesse.

Sourced exclusively from the estate vineyard, the wine is made from carefully selected Pinot Noir clones and matured in a combination of French oak barrels, with a modest proportion of new oak to preserve fruit character while enhancing texture and complexity.

The bouquet is beautifully perfumed, opening with aromas of wild strawberry, red cherry, raspberry, and cranberry, layered with notes of rose petal, violet, forest floor, spice, and subtle cedar. As the wine evolves in the glass, nuances of dried herbs, mushroom, tea leaf, and earthy minerality emerge.

On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, silky, and exceptionally balanced. Flavours of red cherry, raspberry, wild berry fruits, and plum skin are supported by fine tannins and vibrant natural acidity.
