The 2022 Bindi Block 8 Pinot Noir is one of Australia’s most coveted single-vineyard Pinot Noirs, crafted by the iconic Bindi Wines in Victoria’s renowned Macedon Ranges. Produced from the estate’s celebrated Block 8 vineyard, this limited-release wine represents the pinnacle of Bindi’s pursuit of site expression, purity, and elegance.

Planted on ancient volcanic soils at high elevation, Block 8 is widely regarded as one of Australia’s finest Pinot Noir sites. The cool climate of the Macedon Ranges, combined with meticulous organic and biodynamic vineyard practices, allows for exceptionally slow ripening, resulting in wines of remarkable aromatic complexity, natural acidity, and longevity.

The 2022 vintage delivered outstanding fruit quality, with a long growing season producing Pinot Noir of exceptional concentration and finesse. Hand-harvested fruit was carefully sorted before fermentation using indigenous yeasts. Gentle extraction techniques preserved aromatic detail and texture, while maturation in French oak barrels enhanced complexity without overshadowing the vineyard character.

The bouquet is intensely perfumed and highly complex, revealing layers of wild strawberry, red cherry, raspberry, cranberry, and blood orange, complemented by floral notes of rose petal and violet. Beneath the fruit lies a sophisticated framework of forest floor, dried herbs, spice, graphite, and mineral earthiness.

On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, silky, and exceptionally precise. Flavours of red berries, cherry, raspberry, and plum skin unfold with remarkable purity and detail. Fine-grained tannins and vibrant natural acidity provide structure and tension, creating a wine of both elegance and depth.

The finish is extraordinarily long and mineral-driven, lingering with notes of red fruits, floral perfume, spice, and savoury complexity. While approachable with careful decanting, the 2022 Block 8 Pinot Noir is built for long-term cellaring and is expected to evolve beautifully over the next 12–20 years.
