The 2023 Yeringberg Pinot Noir is a refined, traditionally crafted cool-climate Pinot Noir from Victoria’s Yarra Valley, produced by Yeringberg. One of the Yarra Valley’s most historic estates, Yeringberg is known for its restrained, elegant style and meticulous vineyard-focused winemaking.

The 2023 vintage in the Yarra Valley delivered excellent conditions, with a long, even growing season allowing Pinot Noir fruit to develop purity, fragrance, and fine structural balance. The result is a wine defined by precision, freshness, and classic regional expression.

Fruit was hand-harvested from estate vineyards and carefully sorted before fermentation in small batches. Traditional winemaking techniques were employed, with a portion of whole bunches used to enhance aromatic lift and structural complexity. The wine was then matured in French oak barrels, with a restrained use of new oak to preserve delicacy and site expression.

The bouquet is elegant and layered, revealing aromas of red cherry, wild strawberry, raspberry, and cranberry, complemented by notes of rose petal, violet, orange zest, and subtle spice. As the wine opens, savoury nuances of forest floor, dried herbs, and earthy minerality emerge, adding depth and complexity.

On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, silky, and finely structured. Flavours of red berries, cherry, raspberry, and plum skin are supported by bright acidity and fine-grained tannins. The style is understated yet complex, showing purity, balance, and finesse rather than overt power.

The finish is long, elegant, and savoury, with lingering notes of red fruits, floral perfume, spice, and gentle earthy complexity. While approachable in its youth, the wine will reward careful cellaring over the next 8–12 years.
