The 2024 Domaine Leflaive Mâcon-Verzé Les Chênes is a refined single-vineyard Chardonnay that beautifully expresses the cool, limestone-rich terroir of the Verzé Valley in Burgundy’s Mâconnais. Sourced from the Les Chênes lieu-dit, where shallow clay-limestone soils over bedrock and west-facing slopes create wines of exceptional freshness and minerality, this cuvée is produced from biodynamically farmed vineyards using Domaine Leflaive’s meticulous vineyard and cellar practices. The wine undergoes gentle whole-cluster pressing, followed by fermentation in a combination of stainless steel tanks, concrete vats, large oak foudres, and 600L barrels. It is then aged for 10 months on its lees and a further six months on fine lees in stainless steel, resulting in remarkable texture and precision.

The 2024 vintage displays vibrant aromas of lemon zest, green apple, white peach, pear, white blossom, and subtle notes of fresh almond and wet stone. The palate is fresh and energetic, offering crisp acidity, a silky texture, and pronounced limestone minerality that carries through to a long, elegant finish. A beautifully balanced Chardonnay with both immediate appeal and the potential to evolve gracefully over the next 5–8 years.
