2024 Giant Steps Sexton Vineyard Chardonnay 750mL
The 2024 Giant Steps Sexton Vineyard Chardonnay is a premium single-vineyard Chardonnay from the iconic Sexton Vineyard in Gruyere, Yarra Valley, Victoria. Planted in 1997 on the north-facing slopes of the Warramate Ranges, the vineyard is known for naturally low yields and intensely flavoured Chardonnay with excellent concentration, texture and acidity.
The 2024 vintage offers an elegant yet concentrated expression of Yarra Valley Chardonnay, with preserved lemon, yuzu and ginger biscuit characters, complemented by fine phenolic texture and vibrant acidity. The palate is energetic and tightly focused, finishing long with a distinctive saline character.
The fruit was 100% handpicked and whole-bunch pressed, then wild fermented in 500L French puncheons. The wine underwent partial malolactic fermentation and was matured for nine months in French oak, with 15% new oak and 85% seasoned oak.
The 2024 Sexton Vineyard Chardonnay received 97 points from Halliday Wine Companion and has also received major show recognition, including the Best Chardonnay Trophy at the 2025 Royal Hobart Wine Show, the Best Individual Vineyard Table Wine Trophy, and the Best Victorian Chardonnay Trophy at the 2025 Melbourne Royal Wine Awards.
