The 2024 Kooyong Estate Chardonnay 375mL is a refined half-bottle expression of cool-climate Chardonnay from Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula, crafted by Kooyong. Produced entirely from estate-grown fruit in Tuerong, this wine delivers the same precision, purity, and elegance as the full 750mL bottling, in a convenient smaller format ideal for single occasions or cellaring experimentation.

The Kooyong vineyard benefits from a cool maritime climate, long growing season, and well-drained soils, allowing Chardonnay grapes to ripen slowly while preserving natural acidity and aromatic definition. The 2024 vintage provided excellent conditions, resulting in fruit with outstanding balance, freshness, and clarity.

Fruit was hand-harvested and whole-bunch pressed before fermentation in French oak barriques. A portion of barrel fermentation and lees contact adds texture and complexity, while restrained oak use ensures the vineyard character remains central. The smaller format preserves freshness and is well suited to early enjoyment.

The bouquet is bright and expressive, revealing aromas of white peach, nectarine, lemon zest, and grapefruit, layered with notes of citrus blossom, green apple, crushed almond, and subtle flinty minerality. Gentle hints of brioche and fresh pastry emerge with air.

On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, focused, and beautifully balanced. Flavours of stone fruit, citrus, pear, and lemon curd are supported by lively acidity and a fine, creamy texture. The style is elegant and precise, with subtle oak integration enhancing complexity without overpowering freshness.

The finish is long, clean, and mineral-driven, with lingering notes of citrus, white peach, almond, and saline freshness. While approachable upon release, it will also develop additional complexity over the next 5–8 years.
