The 2024 Nanny Goat Pinot Noir is a finely structured cool-climate Pinot Noir from Central Otago, New Zealand, produced by Nanny Goat Vineyard. Known for its precise, fruit-driven style, Nanny Goat captures the purity, intensity, and elegance that define one of the world’s most celebrated Pinot Noir regions.

Central Otago’s extreme continental climate—hot days, cool nights, and long sunshine hours—allows Pinot Noir grapes to achieve deep colour, concentrated flavour, and vibrant natural acidity. The 2024 vintage delivered excellent growing conditions, resulting in fruit of outstanding clarity, perfume, and balance.

Fruit was hand-harvested from select vineyard sites across Central Otago and carefully sorted before fermentation in small batches. A proportion of whole bunches was included to enhance aromatic lift, spice, and structural complexity. The wine was matured in French oak barrels, with a restrained use of new oak to preserve purity of fruit and regional expression.

The bouquet is expressive and perfumed, revealing aromas of wild strawberry, red cherry, raspberry, and dark plum, layered with notes of violet, rose petal, cinnamon spice, and orange zest. As the wine opens, savoury undertones of forest floor, dried herbs, and subtle earthy minerality emerge.

On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, silky, and finely balanced. Flavours of red berries, cherry, raspberry, and plum skin are supported by fresh acidity and fine-grained tannins. The texture is smooth and elegant, showing both immediacy and underlying structure.

The finish is long, vibrant, and mineral-driven, leaving lingering notes of red fruits, floral perfume, spice, and gentle savoury complexity. While highly enjoyable in its youth, the wine has the structure to develop additional complexity over the next 6–10 years.
