The 2024 Polperro Estate Pinot Noir is a finely crafted cool-climate Pinot Noir from Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula, produced by Polperro Wines. Known for its small-batch, site-driven approach, Polperro focuses on expressive, elegant wines that reflect the coastal terroir and natural balance of the region.

Sourced from estate vineyards in Red Hill and surrounding Mornington Peninsula sites, the 2024 vintage benefited from a long, mild growing season that preserved natural acidity while allowing for excellent flavour development. The result is a Pinot Noir with purity, fragrance, and refined structure.

Hand-harvested fruit was carefully sorted and fermented in small open fermenters, often with a proportion of whole bunches to enhance perfume and complexity. The wine was then matured in French oak barrels, with a restrained use of new oak to maintain freshness and site expression.

The bouquet is lifted and aromatic, showing red cherry, wild strawberry, raspberry, and cranberry, layered with notes of rose petal, violet, dried herbs, and subtle spice. As the wine opens, delicate savoury nuances of forest floor, tea leaf, and earthy minerality emerge.

On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, silky, and finely structured. Flavours of red berries, cherry, raspberry, and plum skin are supported by fine tannins and vibrant acidity. The texture is elegant and seamless, with a strong sense of coastal freshness and purity.

The finish is long, refined, and gently savoury, with lingering notes of red fruit, spice, floral perfume, and soft earthy complexity. While highly enjoyable in its youth, the wine will also reward short to medium-term cellaring.
