The 2024 Rockford Eden Valley Riesling is a vibrant and elegant cool-climate Riesling from South Australia’s renowned Eden Valley, crafted by Rockford Wines. Celebrated for its purity, freshness, and remarkable ageing potential, this wine reflects both the unique terroir of Eden Valley and Rockford’s traditional, hands-on approach to winemaking.

Sourced from selected high-altitude vineyards in Eden Valley, the 2024 vintage benefited from cool nights and a long, gradual ripening period. These conditions encouraged the development of intense aromatics, vibrant acidity, and exceptional fruit definition, hallmarks of the region’s finest Rieslings.

The fruit was harvested in the cool of the morning and gently pressed to preserve delicate aromatics. Fermentation occurred in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, allowing the natural varietal character and mineral purity of the fruit to shine through. No oak maturation is used, ensuring maximum freshness and precision.

The bouquet is intensely aromatic, offering lifted notes of lime zest, lemon blossom, green apple, and kaffir lime, complemented by hints of jasmine, white flowers, and wet stone minerality. The aromatic profile is vibrant, youthful, and highly expressive.

On the palate, the wine is light to medium-bodied, crisp, and beautifully focused. Flavours of fresh lime juice, citrus peel, green apple, and lemon sherbet are supported by bright natural acidity and a fine mineral backbone. The texture is precise and refreshing, with outstanding balance and purity.

The finish is long, clean, and mouth-watering, leaving lingering impressions of lime, citrus blossom, and slate-like minerality. Delicious in its youth, the wine also possesses the structure and acidity to reward patient cellaring for 10–15 years or more, gradually developing classic Riesling notes of toast, honey, and kerosene complexity.
