Moutai is one of the top three most well-known distilled spirit brands in the world. This prestigious liquor is famous not only in China but in many countries across the world. As it names suggests, Moutai liquor is locally produced in a town called Maotai in Guizhou province.
Of all Chinese spirits, Moutai Flying Fairy is the most revered. Its flavour and aroma are reminiscent of soy sauce, pears, almonds, walnuts, and celebration drinks.
Known more commonly as the ‘original’ Moutai or Kweichow Moutai, characterised by its distinct flavour and mellow yet pleasant after-taste. It was awarded the honourable title of National Liquor, the highest accolade for any wine or spirit in China.
