Monkey Shoulder is a smooth and versatile blended malt Scotch whisky crafted by William Grant & Sons, made exclusively from a selection of Speyside single malts. Unlike blended Scotch that includes grain whisky, Monkey Shoulder is a “blended malt,” combining only malt whiskies to deliver a richer and more characterful profile.

Originally inspired by the traditional practice of maltmen developing a temporary shoulder injury from hand-turning malted barley, Monkey Shoulder is designed to be approachable, mixable, and full of flavour. It has become a favourite among bartenders worldwide for its balance and cocktail versatility.

The nose is soft and inviting, with aromas of vanilla, honey, orange peel, and gentle spice. On the palate, it is smooth and creamy, offering flavours of malt sweetness, toffee, baked apple, butterscotch, cinnamon, and subtle oak. Its rounded texture and gentle spice make it equally enjoyable neat, over ice, or in premium whisky cocktails.

The finish is medium in length, smooth, and slightly sweet, with lingering notes of vanilla, malt, and soft oak spice. Monkey Shoulder is an excellent introduction to Scotch whisky and a reliable staple for both sipping and mixing.
