Mortlach The Wee Witchie 12 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a distinctive and richly flavoured Speyside Single Malt from Mortlach Distillery in Dufftown, Scotland. Named after the distillery’s smallest copper still, “The Wee Witchie”, this expression showcases the robust and complex character that has earned Mortlach its reputation as the “Beast of Dufftown”.

Mortlach is renowned for its unusual 2.81 times distillation process, in which the spirit passes through six differently shaped copper stills. This distinctive production method creates a dense, full-bodied spirit with a characteristic savoury and meaty depth.

The 12 Year Old is double cask matured in both American and European oak, allowing the rich spirit to develop layers of fruit, spice, chocolate and toasted oak.

The nose is rich and deep, combining polished oak and sandalwood with light spice, charred toffee and vibrant red berries.

On the palate, the whisky is sweet, spicy and medium to full-bodied. Demerara sugar and cherry jam bring rich fruit sweetness, while dark chocolate and light tobacco add depth. The signature Mortlach character provides a subtle savoury and meaty quality beneath the sweeter flavours.

The finish is smooth and dry, with lingering bitter plum, oak and gentle spice creating a satisfying and distinctive conclusion.
