The 2008 Mount Mary Quintet Red Blend Magnum is a powerful yet refined expression of the Yarra Valley’s most celebrated Bordeaux-style blend. Comprising Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, and Petit Verdot, this wine reflects both the generosity of the 2008 season and Mount Mary’s hallmark elegance.
Aromas of ripe blackcurrant, mulberry, and dark plum are interwoven with cedar, tobacco, and graphite notes. The palate is richly layered yet balanced, offering concentrated dark fruits, fine tannins, and subtle earthy spice. The magnum format preserves freshness and structure, enhancing its potential for graceful long-term ageing.
Serving & Cellaring:
Pair beautifully with roast lamb, venison, or aged cheeses. Drinking superbly now, but the large format promises further complexity and longevity over the next 15–20 years.
