Beaujolais-Villages takes its name from a certain number of wine-making villages in the Beaujolais production area - 38 to be precise - that have long stood out for the superior quality of their wines.
Dark red black tinged core with a dark red hue. Aromas of dark cherry, anise and earth drift through the nostrils with some incense and spice notes also chiming in. Juicy dark cherry and anise flavours overlay an earthy incense and spicy dried herb back drop. Slightly chewy tannins with fresh acidity and a generously fruited spice laden finish.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
