Produced by Penfolds, Grange is internationally acclaimed for its extraordinary longevity, concentration, and consistent excellence. More than three decades after its release, the 1988 vintage remains a prized acquisition for collectors and enthusiasts seeking a mature expression of one of the world’s most celebrated wines.

Crafted predominantly from Shiraz with a small proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon, the fruit was sourced from premium South Australian vineyards including Barossa Valley, Clare Valley, McLaren Vale, and Magill Estate. Following the traditional Grange winemaking philosophy established by legendary winemaker Max Schubert, the wine was matured in new American oak hogsheads, providing the structure and complexity required for long-term cellaring.

The 1988 vintage displays an evolved and sophisticated bouquet, offering aromas of blackberry, blackcurrant, plum, liquorice, cedar, dark chocolate, tobacco leaf, roasted coffee, leather, and sweet spice. Extended bottle maturation has introduced additional tertiary characteristics including truffle, dried fruit, earthy notes, and savoury complexity.
