Produced by Penfolds, Grange is recognised worldwide as the pinnacle of Australian fine wine and is officially listed as a Heritage Icon of South Australia. The 2012 vintage is widely regarded as one of the standout Granges of the 21st century, earning exceptional critical acclaim for its concentration, structure, and extraordinary ageing potential.

Crafted from 98% Shiraz and 2% Cabernet Sauvignon, the fruit was sourced primarily from the outstanding vineyards of Barossa Valley and McLaren Vale. The growing season benefited from mild conditions, cool evenings, and excellent fruit development, resulting in grapes of exceptional flavour intensity and balance. The wine was matured in 100% new American oak hogsheads, a hallmark of the Grange style that contributes richness, complexity, and remarkable longevity.

The bouquet is intensely aromatic and unmistakably Grange, revealing layers of blackberry compote, blackcurrant, dark plum, liquorice, vanilla, sandalwood, baking spices, and dark chocolate. Additional notes of roasted coffee, hoisin, Chinese five spice, cedar, and savoury complexity emerge with aeration, creating a wine of extraordinary depth and intrigue.

On the palate, the 2012 Grange is rich, powerful, and impeccably structured. Concentrated flavours of blackberry, plum preserves, cassis, dark chocolate, espresso, spice, and fine oak unfold across a full-bodied framework supported by velvety tannins and vibrant acidity.
