The 2007 Penfolds Bin 95 Grange Shiraz is a powerful and highly collectible vintage from Australia’s most iconic wine. Produced by Penfolds, Grange is regarded globally as one of the greatest wines in the world, celebrated for its structure, intensity, and exceptional ageing potential.
The 2007 vintage was shaped by a warm and dry growing season across South Australia, resulting in small yields and highly concentrated fruit. Sourced from premium vineyards in Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale, Clare Valley, and Magill Estate, the wine follows the traditional Grange philosophy and was matured for approximately 18 months in 100% new American oak hogsheads, giving it its signature richness and depth.
The bouquet is deeply expressive, showing intense aromas of blackberry, black plum, dark cherry, and mulberry, layered with mocha, liquorice, vanilla oak, and cocoa. As it opens, additional complexity emerges with notes of espresso, cedar, tobacco leaf, dried herbs, and savoury spice.
On the palate, the 2007 Grange is full-bodied, bold, and densely structured. Concentrated dark fruit flavours are supported by firm yet refined tannins and balanced acidity, giving the wine both power and longevity. The oak integration is pronounced yet well-structured, contributing depth and classic Grange character.
The finish is long, rich, and persistent, with lingering notes of dark chocolate, roasted coffee, spice, and mature oak. While already approachable with extended decanting, this vintage continues to reward long-term cellaring and remains a strong collector’s release.
