The 2024 Kooyong Estate Pinot Noir is a classic cool-climate Pinot Noir from Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula, crafted by Kooyong. Produced from estate-grown fruit, this wine embodies Kooyong’s commitment to terroir-driven winemaking, delivering purity, elegance, and regional character in a beautifully balanced style.

Located in Tuerong on the Mornington Peninsula, the Kooyong vineyard benefits from a cool maritime climate, gentle sea breezes, and well-drained soils that allow Pinot Noir to ripen slowly and evenly. These conditions contribute to wines with bright aromatics, vibrant acidity, and refined structure.

The 2024 vintage provided excellent growing conditions, producing fruit with outstanding freshness, concentration, and varietal expression. Hand-harvested grapes were carefully sorted before fermentation in small batches. A portion of whole bunches was included to add aromatic lift and complexity, while maturation in French oak barrels enhanced texture and structure without overshadowing the fruit.

The bouquet is fragrant and expressive, revealing aromas of red cherry, wild strawberry, raspberry, and cranberry, complemented by notes of rose petal, violet, orange zest, and subtle spice. Delicate savoury nuances of forest floor, dried herbs, and earthy minerality add further depth.

On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, silky, and finely structured. Flavours of red berries, cherry, raspberry, and plum skin are supported by lively acidity and fine tannins. The wine balances fruit purity with savoury complexity, creating a style that is both approachable and sophisticated.

The finish is long, fresh, and elegant, lingering with notes of red fruits, floral perfume, spice, and subtle earthy undertones. While drinking beautifully upon release, the wine also has the balance and structure to develop additional complexity over the next 5–8 years.
