The 2025 By Farr Rising Gamay is a vibrant and expressive cool-climate red wine from Victoria’s renowned Geelong wine region, crafted by By Farr. Produced under the Rising label, this wine showcases the freshness, perfume, and drinkability that have made Gamay increasingly popular among wine enthusiasts seeking elegant, food-friendly reds.

Sourced from carefully selected vineyards in the Moorabool Valley and Geelong region, the 2025 vintage benefited from a long and even growing season, allowing the grapes to achieve excellent flavour development while retaining bright natural acidity and freshness.

Inspired by the great Gamays of Beaujolais, the wine is crafted using traditional techniques that emphasise fruit purity and aromatic complexity. Partial whole-bunch fermentation and gentle extraction preserve the variety’s vibrant fruit profile and silky texture.

The bouquet is lifted and aromatic, offering vibrant notes of red cherry, raspberry, wild strawberry, and cranberry, layered with hints of violet, rose petal, white pepper, and subtle spice. As the wine opens, delicate notes of fresh herbs, forest berries, and earthy undertones emerge.

On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, juicy, and energetic. Flavours of red berries, cherry, pomegranate, and raspberry are supported by fine tannins and refreshing acidity, creating a wine that is both approachable and beautifully balanced. The texture is silky and supple, with a purity of fruit that is the hallmark of quality Gamay.
