The 2022 Dalrymple Single Site Estate Pipers River Chardonnay is a premium cool-climate Chardonnay sourced exclusively from Dalrymple’s estate vineyard in the renowned Pipers River region of northern Tasmania. Widely regarded as one of Australia’s finest cool-climate Chardonnay regions, Pipers River benefits from strong maritime influences, long growing seasons, and slow fruit ripening, producing wines of exceptional elegance, complexity, and longevity.

The 2022 vintage delivered outstanding fruit quality, with excellent flavour concentration balanced by vibrant natural acidity. The cool growing conditions allowed the fruit to retain remarkable freshness while developing depth and aromatic complexity.

Hand-harvested fruit was whole-bunch pressed and fermented in French oak barriques, including a proportion of new oak. Extended maturation on lees enhanced texture and complexity while preserving the purity and precision that define Pipers River Chardonnay.

The bouquet is refined and expressive, revealing layers of white peach, nectarine, lemon curd, grapefruit, and citrus blossom, complemented by subtle notes of hazelnut, cashew, oatmeal, flint, and delicate spice. A distinctive mineral character provides additional depth and sophistication.

On the palate, the wine is elegant, concentrated, and beautifully balanced, with vibrant acidity driving flavours of stone fruit, citrus zest, grapefruit, and preserved lemon. Lees maturation contributes a creamy texture, while fine oak integration adds complexity without overshadowing the fruit.

The finish is long, precise, and mineral-driven, lingering with notes of white peach, lemon zest, roasted nuts, flint, and saline freshness. While already highly enjoyable, the wine possesses the structure and balance to evolve gracefully over the next 8–15 years.
