The 2024 Brokenwood Chardonnay is a vibrant and contemporary Australian Chardonnay from one of the country’s most respected wineries, Brokenwood Wines. Renowned for producing wines of purity, balance, and regional expression, Brokenwood has crafted a Chardonnay that combines bright fruit character with subtle complexity and exceptional drinkability.

The 2024 vintage benefited from favourable growing conditions, allowing the fruit to achieve excellent flavour development while retaining fresh natural acidity. Carefully selected parcels of premium Chardonnay fruit were harvested at optimal ripeness to preserve varietal character and balance.

Following gentle whole-bunch pressing, the juice was fermented using a combination of stainless steel and French oak fermentation techniques. Extended lees contact added texture and complexity, while restrained oak influence ensured the focus remained on fruit purity and freshness.

The bouquet is fresh and inviting, offering aromas of white peach, nectarine, lemon zest, and grapefruit, complemented by subtle notes of cashew, almond meal, oatmeal, and delicate spice. Hints of citrus blossom and minerality add further elegance and aromatic lift.

On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, crisp, and beautifully balanced, with flavours of stone fruit, citrus, green apple, and grapefruit supported by vibrant acidity and a creamy texture. The restrained use of oak enhances complexity without overpowering the fruit-driven style.

The finish is long, refreshing, and clean, lingering with notes of citrus zest, white peach, roasted nuts, and subtle mineral freshness. Designed to be enjoyed in its youth, the wine also has sufficient structure to develop additional complexity over the next 3–5 years.
